Marva has had to spend a lot of time working on issues that weren’t under her control and outside of her power to directly fix. Handled it all with aplomb and dedication.

Montie deserves an award for organizing and hosting trivia night. this was one of the most fun things I’ve done at the law school and I thought it went a very long way in building collegiality.

I would like to give a shout out to Sue Schechter, who went so far above and beyond for me and my forthcoming baby girl. Her generosity and kindness is exemplary of this wonderful community that I feel very lucky to be a part of.

Julia came to the Law School in January and dived into the deep end of the pool immediately. Prior to Julia’s arrival, there wasn’t any other individual in the finance team or within the Law School that could help me with contract and grant responsibilities. Without her support, I’m not sure I would have stayed at the Law School. Her work ethic, skill set, and experience have been invaluable. I appreciate that she also takes responsibility for her work and is always ready to lend a helping hand. She is collegial and friendly, and has helped to foster a better environment here. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate her.
Thank you so much to Michael Lindsey, Michael Levy and Ramona Collins of the library. I’m so happy to have you as my colleagues. Thank you for all the support you’ve given to the Visiting Scholars Program. I also want to say thank you to Edwin Bish, gar Russel and Kathleen Vanden Heuvel for the support they’ve also provided to the VSP. I hope you all know that I appreciate your hard work and thanks so much for working with me to improve the Program.
Roberto Contreras and Jairus Chappell totally bailed us out. We had some furniture arrive unexpectedly and we needed help getting the old furniture out of the space. Without any notice, Roberto and Jairus stopped by and took care of everything! They were super friendly, helpful, and responsive – we’re so lucky to have them at Berkeley Law.
Thanks to Montie and Patricia for hosting and monitoring Berkeley Law’s first ever trivia night! Even though I had to leave early, I had a fun time. I hope we can do this twice a year or something like that. It was a great opportunity to build community. Hopefully more faculty will join in on the fun (props to Ted M., Claudia P. and Andrea F.).
The ESU members, Thembianne Jackson, Victoria Berdin, and Nancy Donovan played a major role in the CLR sponsored Symposium on Habeas in War Time held on April 6th. Special shout out to them and other ESU colleagues in a job well done. As we have come to expect ESU “hit it out the park” again with their expertise and professionalism.
Major Shout Out to all!!!
The Clinical Program is currently down one staff member (due to Farrah Fanara’s fabulous promotion to Director of the Visiting Scholars Program!) and if Olivia hadn’t stepped up and helped out, I would have been completely buried. Her competent and gracious support has made my life MUCH MUCH better and she totally deserves this Shout Out – Thanks a million Olivia!
We would like to send a really special shout and a very big thank you to Claudia Alvarenga and Caroline Cheng for going above and beyond to help the Field Placement and Pro Bono Programs in our time of need. We appreciate all your help and support!
