ShoutOut Awards!

The ShoutOut Award provides a small but important way to acknowledge staff for extraordinary acts of service and support. The ShoutOut Award process is simple:

  • Any Berkeley Law community member may nominate any other community member at any time for a ShoutOut Award.
  • Send an e-mail to shoutout@law.berkeley.edu with the nominee’s name in the subject line and a 2-3 sentence justification for the award in the body of the message.
  • Within the week, the recipient will receive a ShoutOut Award, including the text of the nomination, and a $10 Zeb’s gift card.

If you have any questions about the program, please contact Jeanette Ching (jrc@law.berkeley.edu).

Food Drive Success!

Thanks to all of you who contributed to our Food Drive to benefit The Bear Pantry! Your generous donations will support low-income UC Berkeley student families with dependent children.

Thank you to Lisa Ferrari for her help with the food collection logistics and to the Clinical Program office, Library, Registrar’s Office, and Student Services for hosting the collection bins. All of your support was key to the success of our effort.

2017 Merit increases for non-represented staff

Thank you to everyone for participating in the annual performance review process. We hope you all had productive conversations with your supervisors and have clear goals for the upcoming year. If you need assistance identifying development opportunities to help you to reach your goals, please feel free to contact HR.

Managers have completed the merit process for eligible employees (non-represented, career staff hired prior to 1/1/17) and submitted their salary recommendations to Central Campus for processing. Merit increases will be awarded retroactively to July 1, 2017 for monthly paid employees and June 18, 2017 for bi-weekly paid employees.

Employees paid monthly will see the merit increase in their paycheck on 11/1/17 and those on a bi-weekly schedule will see the merit increase in their 10/18/17 paycheck. Both monthly paid and bi-weekly paid employees will receive retroactive payments on their 11/1/17 paycheck.
